With
the drive-thru portion of a quick service restaurant typically accounting for 50% to 70% of it's sales, can you afford to not manage it aggressively?
|
| |
|
In a drive-thru
line, faster service means better service, more satisfied
customers, more repeat business, and increased sales and profits.
Faster service is especially important at peak meal times,
when drive-
thru capacity is increased and fewer customers
turn back because the line is too long.
Fast Track 2+2
Timing Systems by Phase Research are state of the art timing
and recording systems that monitor the speed of customer service
in the drive-thru line of quick service restaurants (QSRs).
For each car in
the line, the system measures, stores, and displays event
times as follows: greet delay
at the menu board, total time
at the menu board, time at the pay window, time at the pickup
window, and overall time from arrival at the menu board to
departure from the pickup window. The pay and pickup windows
may be combined, and there can be two drive-thru lanes per
system. The animated diagram below illustrates the operation.

Benefits
of Fast Track 2+2
® Timing Systems
|
By
measuring the time to greet the customer, total time at
the menu board, time at each service window, and total
time in line, Fast Track 2+2 Timers are able to: |
|
|
Assess
the speed and efficiency of the overall drive-thru service
at each of a franchisee's restaurants. |
|
|
Provide
data for evaluating the various drive-thru steps to discover
bottlenecks, optimize procedures, adjust staff levels,
and set service or shift standards. |
|
|
Monitor
and record the efficiency of employees, even when management
is not present. |
|
|
Give
employees real-time feedback about their performance against
targets set by management. |
|
|
Show
service times to customers, demonstrating that the restaurant
cares about efficient service and customer satisfaction. |
|
|
Improve
the level of service to drive-thru customers, thereby
encouraging repeat business, increasing sales and increasing
profits. |
|
|
Improve
utilization and raise capacity of the restaurants' drive-thru
facilities. |

How
a Fast Track
2+2 ® Timer Pays for Itself
|
|

|
Fast Track 2+2 Timer helps improve drive-thru performance
by monitoring and grading service times compared to target
times. If you don't measure it, you can't manage it! |
|
Fast Track
2+2 Timer deters employee theft by monitoring car counts,
loop resets, and power outs. Its Night Manager capability
applies when the regular manager is absent. |
 |
A 10% increase
in drive-thru sales with a Fast Track 2+2 Timer is a conservative
expectation. |
